Trip to Hydroponic Farm
Grade 7th went on an exciting field trip to a local hydroponics farm on 22nd July, 2025. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil, using nutrient-rich water instead. As we entered the farm, we were amazed to see rows of leafy greens like lettuce and spinach growing in vertical structures and trays filled with water.
The guide explained how hydroponics uses less water than traditional farming and can be done indoors, making it perfect for cities. We learned about different systems like NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) and deep water culture. It was fascinating to see how technology and farming come together to grow fresh, healthy food.
It was a fun and educational experience that taught us the importance of sustainable farming.
