Anand Niketan Sughad Embraces 'Bagless Day' with Experiential Learning, Fostering Holistic Development
In a vibrant display of innovative education, Anand Niketan Sughad enthusiastically observed "Bagless Day" on July 26th, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020's vision to reduce academic burden and promote hands-on learning. Students from various grades participated in a diverse array of engaging, experiential activities, turning a regular school day into a memorable journey of discovery and creativity.
The "Bagless Day" initiative, also known as "No Bag Day" or "10 Bagless Days," designates 10 days annually for students to attend school without their traditional textbooks and bags. This allows for a shift from rote learning to practical, interactive sessions designed to enhance critical thinking, collaboration, and skill development.
Anand Niketan Sughad meticulously planned a day packed with stimulating activities tailored to different age groups:
Grade 3 students went for an educational trip to Indroda Park to explore about the extinct Dinosaurs and also gathered knowledge about animals.
Grade 4 students kicked off their day with energetic Zumba sessions, promoting physical fitness and coordination through dance.
Grade 5 indulged in creative pursuits with Origami, fostering fine motor skills and artistic expression, alongside engaging Board Games that encouraged strategic thinking and social interaction.
Grade 6 showcased their artistic flair through Bottle Painting and Block Painting, transforming ordinary objects into works of art.
Grade 7 delved into practical skills with Candle Making and explored scientific principles through an interactive Science Activity, sparking curiosity and understanding.
Grade 8 students embraced traditional crafts, learning the intricate processes of Tie and Dye and the tactile art of Pottery, connecting with cultural heritage and developing patience.
A significant highlight for grades 4 to 6 was the dedicated focus on Music and Dance, providing a platform for students to express themselves creatively and enjoy rhythmic movements.
Beyond the hands-on activities, the day also featured insightful Wellness Sessions conducted by esteemed professionals, Dr. Hetal Acharya and Dr. Madhavi. These sessions aimed to equip students with valuable knowledge and strategies for maintaining their well-being, both mental and physical.The palpable excitement among students throughout the day underscored the success of the initiative.
